Heavy Dinar (Gold, 24 mm, 6.12 g, 3 h), citing Mahmud as Samanid governor in western Khorasan (AH 994-997) and the Samanid ruler Mansur II as overlord, Nishapur, AH 386 = AD 996. Album A1602. Struck on an exceptionally heavy flan and extremely rare as such. Minor areas of weakness and with two minor scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
